A Mount Vernon Community Children’s Theater institution, the camp wouldn’t be the same without Carrie who has been involved in the vaunted summer playhouse since childhood. She is a graduate of Rutgers University and a certified Montessori schoolteacher with fifteen years of experience as Head Teacher in ports of call ranging from Bridgewater, New Jersey to Vineyard Haven (Martha’s Vineyard), Massachusetts and beyond. Carrie has written over twenty plays for kids of all ages and is best known for deriving fun, alternative lyrics to popular songs. Her works have been circulated and re-performed at summer and school year drama programs from Hyannis to Hong Kong and beyond. Caroline “Carrie” Peckar (whose middle name is “Flo”) goes with the flow in Oak Bluffs, MA where she continues to write, teach, and create jewelry for the inimitable Hawkhouse gem company. Her most recent innovation, Sharknado: The Musical earned her a coveted “MLW Best Children’s Drama Award” and a “Kid’s Choice Performance Gold Medal” in the past calendar year alone. Go, Carrie!
